Vale a pena visitar. Por Carlos Pais.

MAÇÃO is a village located in the district of Santarém, near Beira Baixa, where the typical landscape is the Maritime Pine Forest. The region started to develop in the reign of King Dinis, it still retains its rural characteristics. In this region there are many prehistoric remains and Roman marks. The village has whitewashed houses and has a strong architectural heritage: the Mother Church of 16th Century, the Misericórdia and Nossa Srª da Conceição churches and Pelourinho. It also has mineral-medicinal waters recommended for therapeutic purposes. Definitely worth the visit. By Carlos Pais.
